University of Arizona Global Campus Online MS in Health Informatics & Analytics
The University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) offers a fully online master of science in health informatics and analytics (MSHIA) that can be completed in about 19 months. Offered through the College of Arts and Sciences, the program culminates with a health informatics and analytics capstone, showcasing the students’ learned knowledge and skills throughout the program.
The MS in informatics and analytics prepares graduates to affect patient outcomes and experiences through analyzing, evaluating, and applying health care data. Program instruction focuses on strategic goals, leadership principles, quality improvement and risk, software applications, clinical practices, policy evaluation, and regulatory policies.
Graduates of the MSHIA program may go on to leadership positions in health care-related organizations including data architect, clinical informatics manager, health informatics analyst, health informatics specialist, chief medical information officer, and EHR implementation manager.

What to Expect from the UAGC Online MS in Health Informatics & Analytics
Admission Requirements: UAGC master’s programs require a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher. Up to a 2.74 GPA puts accepted students on Academic Watch.
The application process is kept simple with no GMAT test requirements, no application fee, and no work experience requirement. Application materials include an online application and submission of official transcripts. Proof of English language proficiency may be requested, if applicable.
Study Plan: Program entry occurs throughout the year—as often as once a week. Courses run six weeks in length and are designed to be taken one at a time, equaling about 19 months of study. The program consists of 13 courses. The health informatics and analytics capstone covers leading-edge elements relating to data visualization and analytics within the health care industry. A final project is included with this course. Courses are fully online with no campus visits or internships required.

Courses include foundations in health informatics; health care program and project management; health care management information systems; systems analysis, design, and technology management; data visualization and decision support; management topics in information governance; technology topics in information governance and business analytics; data visualization and decision-support; principles of biostatistics; clinical research and grant writing; principles of epidemiology; providers topics in health informatics; advanced topics in biomedical informatics; and a health informatics and analytics capstone.
Online Experience: UAGC delivers courses through Canvas, including mobile apps for iPhone and Android. Digital books are used for most courses, allowing students to highlight, take notes, and listen to the audiobook version of the textbook. Online students have access to various services including academic advising, enrollment advising, live classroom support, technical support, financial aid services, chat support, and career guidance.
On-Site Requirements: There are no on-site requirements as the UAGC online MS in health informatics and analytics is fully online.
