Students typically begin in the fall or spring and should expect to spend 10 to 15 hours per week on each course. Those without a healthcare background complete an internship as part of their capstone project for the online MHA. Those with significant healthcare experience do not need to complete an internship.

MHA Curriculum: The Methodist University MHA comprises 36 credits over 11 courses which may include management and leadership of healthcare organizations; applied business statistics; business law and ethics; accounting for managers; marketing management; finance and economics of healthcare organizations; strategic management for healthcare leaders; organizational behavior; healthcare policy issues; and global health. A capstone experience course is also included at six credits and may include an internship for those without a healthcare background.

Online Experience: The online MHA is delivered asynchronously through Canvas. Courses are interactive and may include reading assignments, group assignments, multimedia components, papers, online forums, and assessments.

Students engage with faculty and peers through discussion posts, and faculty offer dedicated office hours through chat and video conferencing. Methodist University offers access to a student services coordinator, tutoring center, writing center, online library services, career counseling, and 24/7 technical support.

On-Site Requirements: There are no on-site requirements as the Methodist University online MHA is 100 percent online.
