Students in the HSA program complete a master’s project in health services administration with or at a health care organization and prepares a written and oral final project.

MS in Health Services Administration Curriculum: The HSA comprises 36 credits, with 30 credits of core courses and six credits of electives from HSA, MSHI, or MBA courses. Required courses include organizational ethics and health care compliance; leadership and organizational development in health care settings; strategic planning and development in health services; foundations of health care economics, accounting, and financial management; methods of inquiry and research; advanced concepts of health care finance; contemporary issues in health services delivery systems; and master’s project in health services administration.

Health Care Business Management Graduate Certificate Requirements: Students choose 12 semester hours (four courses) from the following: organizational ethics and healthcare compliance; leadership and organizational development in healthcare; strategic planning and development in health services; marketing and public relations in healthcare settings; assessment of quality care and patient safety; medical practice management; human resource management in healthcare settings; advanced concepts of healthcare finance; and healthcare informatics and information management in healthcare settings.

Health Care Quality and Patient Safety Graduate Certificate Requirements: Assessment of quality care and patient safety; advanced concepts of quality: lean methodology; emerging technologies for health; biostatistics and health data analysis

Online Experience: Regis University delivers classes through D2L Brightspace. Students must have a computer with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software, speakers, high-speed internet connection, and a webcam. Regis University recommends the Microsoft Office Suite, and students use email and other web-based technologies to communicate and submit assignments.

All students use the Regis University Student Portal and D2L Brightspace for online information and management of courses and materials. Each student is also assigned an academic advisor throughout the program.

On-Site Requirements: There are no on-site requirements for the online health services programs as they are 100 percent online. Students may partner with and work at a health care organization to complete their master’s project. Students are welcome to visit the Denver, Colorado campus and are encouraged to participate in the graduation ceremony.
